Rechargeable headlamp suggestions

I have a Fenix HL60R (discontinued, replaced with HL70R) that I've really liked. A little heavy in comparison to some others I've had, but works great for hunting, hiking, clamming on the beach, and working on cars. It's also been more durable than some others I've had.

One thing that bugs me on a lot of them is the complexity, I mean who really needs 8 or 12 different modes and who can even memorize how to get to them when you need them? Give me hi/med/lo and I'm good. Competition I suppose. I'm going to keep looking for a simple one though, I have 2 Fenix flashlights and sold on them but haven't ruled out Acebeam or Thrunite..

Do you find yourself pushing the wrong button at times and getting modes you don't want?

Man I just want a frickin light with an on/off button. Not even high medium low

I can't speak for other Fenix products, but the HL60R that I have only has one button. It cycles through 4 or 5 white light settings and a red light. It remembers what setting you used last, so when you turn it off and back on it's on the same setting which is nice. You don't accidentally turn on white light when using red light or have to cycle through to low white and blind yourself.

When I first started traveling to a small fishing village in Mexico 15 years ago there was no electricity yet so everyone wore a headlamp. You had to remember to switch them off or to low before having a conversation with someone to avoid blinding them. We still wear them when we visit our friends who camp on the beach at night. I can only imagine what the new "turbo" mode would be like in your face a 4 feet

Really happy with a Nitecore headlamp I’ve been using for about 2 years now. Good battery life, comfortable, lightweight, bright with nice features.
