If there's a warranty or return policy that will get you a new motor with little to no cost to you, I think you have a good enough case to use it (as long as was delivered that way and this didn't happen from you leaving it to rust afterward).
If not and you're stuck with it, Google "intake valve walnut blast" and see if it's something you'd want to take on. It's a method used commonly to remove carbon deposits on German cars from the early years of gasoline direct injection (2005-2012 give or take). I've done it before, you just want to make sure the valve is closed, cover the other ports, and vacuum or blow it back out before moving to the next valve.
