Post-OPDA issue

Replaced my OPDA and the ole LJ runs great...but... I now have gotten a "Check Gauges" light on startup and the oil pump is zero. If I shut it down and restart everything is normal again. Its happened twice so far. Did I buy a bad unit? Its the Crown brand and re-used OEM sensor.
 
The Check Gauges light will set a code. Cycle the ignition from off to on 3 times without starting the engine and the code will be displayed in the odometer readout. This will help determine if it's a sensor, wiring or mechanical issue.

It appears that there are only three possible issues: 1) Bad oil pressure switch, 2) Bad wiring, or 3) Bad PCM.
