Piss & Moan Table

The PCC line I was referring to, they call it a pick line. Its usually installed in a vein that runs to your heart for intravenous medicine, mine was for daily injection of antibiotics at home.

I think I recall him saying that he did indeed have a pic. Something about pain meds and antibiotics going straight to his heart??

A pic line has two functions. When getting multiple injections of meds it negates finding a vein constantly. Many meds such as Chemo drugs are painful or corrosive when injected and going into the heart directly disperses the meds quickly. When I was a X-ray tech I helped place hundreds of them and took x-rays to confirm correct placement on hundreds more.
I wish you a speedy recovery.

Still fighting the battle. I find it hard to wrap my head around being fine then everything is a mess.

Pt I tried to move my leg nothing. I tried to get it to move using muscles near by but nothing. Nothing worked it didn't feel like my leg.

Pt says it takes time??

Praying for a speedy recovery!

Trust me. Time is your best friend. Let it heal. Stay w the PT. My great friend was in a horrible accident in ‘98. Lost use of his leafy eye and hand. PT swore it would come back.
When it did , and it did , we celebrated no time ! 🇺🇸

I could go home but the IV every 8 hours is keeping me here. They are talking December before I can go home. Going to infection doctor tomorrow will know more after that.

Dang. I guess I was pretty fortunate to have been able to self administer antibiotics at home. They’re still keeping me on oral antibiotics for the foreseeable future. I sure hope it gets better for you @mxz800

I'm sure you want to go home, but if you don't follow doctor's orders, you won't like the alternative.

20 years ago, my mom had sepsis. It was in one of her artificial joints. Because she had a heart condition, she was a poor surgical candidate for a replacement joint. Her choice was amputation, or 3x/day IV antibiotics for 6 weeks and then oral suppression anti biotics for life. She chose the latter.

A few years later, her new doctor said she could stop taking the oral anti biotics, without my knowledge. She went septic again, but we caught it in time. Again IV antibiotics for 6 weeks and then back to pills.

After this, my wife and I got heavily involved in my mom's care. Mom was with us for another 15 years. Don't mess around with this!
