Not I. I don't give a damn what people do - AS LONG AS - they don't try to inflict it on me. The whole world is going straight to Hell in a hand basket with the result that I'm *EXPECTED* to participate in the smartphone lunacy - because "the world has moved on" and "everyone but Zorba has one"; which are NOT acceptable reasons. Its like everyone is eating shit, and telling me how good it tastes.
To quote:
... which is just another way to say "everybody is doing it" - even though the person who posted this denies it. The societal costs, mental health costs, monetary costs, and yes, the spiritual costs of these things - and the world wide obsession with catering to them - is enormous. All for an overpriced gadget that doesn't do anything particularly well, fulfilling a non-existent need in most cases. Not to mention that it didn't really even exist 20 years ago, yet people act like the world would stop turning if they didn't have one.
Jobs introduced his gadget in 2007. By 2010, the "expectation" was already in place, although I didn't notice until 2016 when I had it called to my attention rather rudely. Most people know the problems with these things by now, but they insist on using them anyway, and inflicting them on everyone else because "its necessary" (Bullshit) and/or "its so conVEEEEEEEEEENient" - which is also bullshit as I can't imagine anything that's more of a pain in the ass than a smartphone. Pain in the ass to its user, and everyone else around them. If I had a nickel for every time I was inconvenienced by someone else's fucking PHOOOOOONNE, I'd have a villa on my own private Greek island somewhere.
"Do this", "Do that", "Do whatever" - RIGHT from your PHOOOOOONNE!!! Its always "RIGHT from", never just "from" or "with". But why the Hell would I even want to? But, as always! It's all about the PHOOOOOONNE!!!
So the bear has been poked!
