Picking up where I left off

I'm a little jealous of you for not having to run a flare. ;) I've tapped mine more than once and know their life is limited, but no flare would be even worse.

Good to see that you're getting in wheeling practice before Moab!
In Oregon I would have had to run one, but here in Arizona there is no law saying I have to 😁

It didn’t even take me tapping the fender to realize it was a bad idea. All it took was almost ripping it off to make me realize these rock crawlers don’t have fender flares for a reason 🤣

Moab will be fun. The wheeling down here is amazing, best thing I ever did was moving.

For legal reasons I assume is what you're saying but I'm jealous that it's dry enough there he doesn't WANT fenders! Even with 4" fenders I get freaking covered in shit from wet forest roads
I don't care about the legal reasons, it's that like you said I have a hard enough time keeping my windshield clean with flares.

We need this built back on the forum. It's amazing.
Never gonna happen. I'm going back to what I always did, drop an Easter egg here and there and let folks figure it out. Any time there is a 5 page thread on dust inside a rig and a build thread goes without the meaningful discussion to assist others in how to do things, that puts it all in perfect perspective as to what is valued here. I know my place and now I'm content to stay there.

I'll be looking out for those easter eggs. It's a beautiful build.

Would you consider an ostrich egg?

Damn, GenRight is fast! Ordered the Boulder fenders just the other day and they say they'll be here tomorrow.

Just imagine if Savvy actually had their shit together like this

It's been over 2 weeks and I'm still waiting on a friggin' steering skid from Savvy. It's a good thing I like their parts.

Depends on the day and the part. I've ordered Genright stuff that took a couple of months to get here. I've also ordered stuff and had it here the next day. I had to stop a suspension build and only do half of it because it took 8 weeks to get parts.

I put those GenRights on there less than a week before I shipped it to Massachusetts and only because I knew MA required coverage for inspection. After all that I STILL had to buy a spare set of wheels/tires to put on for inspection day 🤣

I guess I've been lucky. Anytime I've ordered from GenRight they've shipped the next day.

However, I also don't order as many parts as you do, so there's always that.

I actually didn't order, the owner of the rig did but it makes it no less irritating to break down a job I've got staged and go on to something else because I'm tired of waiting on parts.

Yep, I'm lucky down here that we don't have any of that nonsense, so I can get away with no fender flares. I'm thinking this setup will be a lot better in the rocks.

The good news is that I haven't even listed the existing fenders for sale and I've already had 8 people PM me about them wanting to buy them.

The vultures are circling

I imagine that's pretty frustrating when you're trying to get something finished but waiting on parts to do so.

It is frustrating but more with myself since I have a rule that I don't start something without parts. I looked at the box, noted it had what I was after and didn't fully verify. Go to start the other end of the rig, pull out the parts, there was only enough for the front and we had already used them. Owner was all like "oh, they aren't in there?" Uh, no, and not only no but how is it that there are two missing 1200 dollar each parts and there was no conversation about that? They have to know you were shorted 2400 dollar's worth of parts or you had to know you spent 2400 less, or were shorted that much in parts so where was that conversation?

You must've been unaware, or ignoring, the vultures have been circling you since they knew you bought the rig. 😂

What happens in that case? Does the vehicle go to sit outside in the driveway?

I imagine it can't be as bad as Dave. That guy has probably 100 Jeeps sitting on his property, most all of them customers vehicles, some which have been there for a reported 2 years waiting to get work done 🤦‍♂️

The difference is, he's not waiting on parts.

It's a good thing none of those vultures were smart enough to buy the rig from me when I had a momentary lapse of judgement

If it wasn't for shipping I'd be on that list :ROFLMAO:

Are you going with standard height or Highline?

Standard

A highline won't do me any good with my build the way it is.

Yeah, after looking at shipping costs, no way I'm shipping these things. GenRight is obviously building shipping into the costs, because even with my UPS negotiated rates, it's going to be well over $250 to have them shipped just purely based on size.

The good news is, people are willing to drive for them (y)
