The airbag light in my dash cluster has been on since I bought this jeep a year and a half ago. Based on this code and description is it safe to assume that replacing the switch would resolve this issue and my airbag light in the dash cluster would turn off?

There is in fact a mini bulb soldered to the circuit board in the passenger air bag switch that when burnt out will trigger the air bag light. I had to change it on mine. I bought a bulb at radio shack online, changed it and no more light!

Where did you get your new switch from? Was it new or used? I am trying to decide if I should replace the bulb or just get a new switch.

Got a new switch at the dealership. It was about $170. Paid quite a bit so if you can solder I suggest you get a new bulb and save yourself some cash.
