Utah Official TJ Fest 2023 Thread

I remember thinking it would suck to lose traction on it.

That's true. If it was wet out it would have been a cause for concern and likely a turnaround point.
Lies, thing was nuts! That bump near the top was sketchy. Maybe it was because I was going slow in first gear.

Maybe we should try it in 5th gear low next time lol

@JMT I noticed you ran Pritchett doorless but not Behind the Rocks. Why the change?

Two reasons. 1) Because I flopped on to the driver side with doors on BTR and got away virtually unscathed and didn’t want to run that risk again. 2) the opportunity availed itself to leave them at Alex’s. Thanks @Alex01

BTR was the day before PC.

There was a negative to removing the doors. The wind and sand about killed us. I couldn’t wear contacts the next three days! This is my next purchase. Put these in your glovebox.

Those new broncos, everyone thinks they are great because they complete stuff. Yes, they complete obstacles through the power of big tires and lockers. But every time it a super sketchy 3 wheel tilt and drop with huge momentum shifts etc. I think we will see flipped new broncos become very common.

Talk about sketchy. Watch this new Bronco I video’d at BTR.

This may not be as bad as High Dive. However, a SWB TJ will need a strap to keep from going nose down and ass over.

@NashvilleTJ did a great job showing us how it’s done.

On the Pritchett Canyon.

Here’s the new lower area below Chewy. You have to get down there some way. This looked like the best route. It was easier for Alex and I bc we are narrower.

This is Chewy. It’s not easy. Each major obstacle on Pritchett has a winch point (there are several other minor obstacles). The whole trail is only 4.2mi long. The last half mile has three obstacles all within sight of one another. It’s an amazing trail. Alex and I were probably the smallest rigs on the trail that day. 😳 Anyway, here’s Chewy.

Alex on Chewy. To complete this you have to totally commit. It’s a total loss if you blow it. It kept wanting to push Alex and my front end over passenger. It was frustrating.

If you go down Upchuck and don’t want to leave the group who looked at it and said, “Uh uh,” then you have to climb back up. @NashvilleTJ and his buddy Chris 2 both came back up. Here’s the Nashville spectacle.

That DAMN 14 bolt getting hung up on stuff... 😁

I had a feeling it was number 1.

Mrs App wants some goggles too.

There are several smaller obstacles on Pritchett that can be bypassed. This one has several impassable routes. I have two earlier videos showing Jeff trying to get over them. The undercuts completely swallowed 40” tires. 😳

There’s Rockpile, which is insane, and then Son of Rockpile. We saw one rig go up Rockpile. That rig looked like a spider crawling it. Nuts.

We watched rigs for close to an hour trying to get up Son of Rockpile. One Bronco Raptor took forever before being winched. We stacked a ton of rocks up there before trying. I don’t have a video of me yet, but I do have one of Alex. We went right up.

As your Lucky #13 subscriber, I feel the need to spend the 5min to watch your clips.

Yeah, I'm pretty low priority. I appreciate the views! Any feedback about hoods or otherwise are appreciated. Lucky 13 😂.
