O2 sensor location

That's the Upstream O2 sensor, avoid Bosch and store brands. The preferred NTK sensor is no longer available, I'd probably go with the Walker Products 25024943 or Standard Motor Products SG2154T in the Daily Driver section at https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...77,exhaust+&+emission,oxygen+(o2)+sensor,5132

Avoid any that say Downstream which is the one that is screwed into the catalytic converter. It doesn't affect engine operation and is unlikely to need replacing.

Good luck with it. By the way those slotted O2 sensor sockets sold in the auto parts stores aren't strong enough to remove the old O2 sensor. The O2 sensors are usually VERY hard to get out, seized is common, and the slot allows the socket to spread open and slip off. It's meant only for installing new O2 sensors, the slot is for the wiring so it doesn't get damaged.

Instead use a 7/8" box-end wrench or 1/2" ratchet drive to get the old one out. Getting it good and hot first will make it easier to remove though it gets hot enough in there to burn you so just look out.

Good info because I heard they can b a pain! I bought a new mid pipe so I’m gonna install a new o2 sensor and not fight the old one.. lol but good information to know for future work.. thanks for all the great information and help !!!
