I’m rebuilding an np231j (tag shown in pic) and ordered the ZTBK231J from USA Standard gear off rockauto. The two larger bearings that came out do not match the kit… the larger bearings that came out have the numbers (6010N) and (6010NR). It seems nobody in town or online stocks these bearings😭

The bearings supplied in the kit are (6207N) , (6206N) x2.

The two blind hole needle bearings were correct but the two (or three) roller bearings (ball bearing style) are incorrect.😤

I’m assuming I ordered the wrong kit?? Any insight from the members would be appreciated

Image 1 is tag, image 2 is the two larger bearings removed from case, image three as indicated by my finger is bearing 6207N next to the old bearings.

This is a wild ass guess, but the part # has 241J in it which is the TC for the Rubicon. You may have ordered a rebuild kit for a Rubicon case.

Sorry typo, meant to type 231 but greasy fingers

I just need someone to clarify what I’m dealing with here so I can move on with this headache

I see in your profile you own an 1997 2.5L and AX-5.
Is this the NP231J that came with your Jeep or is this a used one you purchased ?
Production date on your tag indicates Jan 1996 if I read that properly.

Used of unknown origin unfortunately.

Must’ve missed something on assembly because it won’t shift out of neutral

the lack of part #'s for that kit makes it difficult to know for sure but from what i can see the large bearing in that kit seems to be the 6010N(NR) bearing needed for the input side of the T-case. The SYE kit I got from JB Conversions uses the 6206N bearing for the rear output, and the front DS bearing is also a 6206. so there must be a change in bearing size for the input side of the 231J T-case at some point during its years of manufacture.
