I remember when the 2WD Unlimited Wranglers were available.
I always wondered why would you put up with all the shortcomings of a Wrangler and lose the biggest benefit?
The 2007-2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited models were available with a 2WD configuration. However, since 2011, the Jeep Wrangler has been standard with 4WD across all its trim packages, with no 2WD option available.

You get all of the style without any of the pesky substance. Function follows form and all.

I was in high school when the JKs came out and one of my teachers asked if I could shuttle her husband's jeep from the dealer. I obliged and when I looked down to put it in gear, I saw a cover where the TC selector should be. I told her I was disappointed in her husband. When my dad bought his truck in 05, I told him he should get 4wd. He didn't and I had to pull him out multiple times growing up. I still ask when he's gonna add a front axle.
