Was driving home my 1987 Jeep, drive home great next day try to start and nothing... all the lights can on horn, wipers, just when trying to start nothing... while under the passenger side under the starter I found this ground but don't know where it connects to. It's connected to the top of the frame and just chilling. any idea what this wire would connect to?

1987?

Where's the wire go to?

What do you have hooked up to the starter now?

This is a TJ forum...1997 to 2006.

If you turn the key to run, transmission in neutral, parking brake on...can you crawl under and jumper the little stud to the big stud on your starter.

That should turn over and run.

ste starter is hooked up to the main battery negative that branches off to that firewall

"Starter is hooked up to the main battery negative that branches off to that firewall" ?????
The '97 wiring must be different than my '01 OR someone has been doing some creative wiring...
There is no ground wire on the starter of my '01; only the HOT lead to the starter solenoid and the starter switch actuation lead.
There is a battery ground lead that connects to the grounding stud on the block (near oil pressure switch) along with a couple other smaller ground terminals.
Please clarify what is going on with your starter wiring.
