Nikki's yellow throwback Jeep

That looks like udder nonsense, does that actually work for you? The oil leaks down the block. How would it do anything useful if it doesn't seal on the block and even if it did you have to pull it off the block at some point and then you have the same mess.
I found it while looking for a solution to the mess created when dropping the filter on a 2021 ram half ton.
One of the ways they show using it is puncturing the filter and letting it drain before you loosen it. One might be able to use it on a Jeep. I'm ordering the 4" for the half ton so I guess I'll see if it works on the TJ too...lol

Best vehicle I ever changed the oil on, Honda insight. They cast a ridge on the oil filter boss so the oil dripped off the little ridge and didn't pour down the block. Such great engineering with no other purpose than to make the lives of those unfortunate saps that have to change oil a little less miserable. Not that I'd want one of those things today but when you looked up and saw what was going on you couldn't help but feel somebody was thinking about how much that job could suck.

My subaru BRZ was definitely the easiest filter I ever changed.

I hadn’t done an oil change since installing my stahlbus.

if you have an engine skid, and don't have a stahlbus…this is a world changer.

even if you don’t have a skid, this thing kicks ass. I didn’t take pictures because I DIDNT HAVE TIME. I unscrewed the dust cap with my fingers, plugged in the hose which reached into the hole in my drip pan. Went inside to grab my funnel and filter and oil and it was done draining with not a drop of oil anywhere. unhooked the hose, screwed on the dust cap by hand, changed the filter and dumped in the oil.

listen I know it might sound stupid “it’s an oil change how hard could it be?” And honestly I wouldn’t have considered this if I didn’t have a skid but just my 2 cents , this makes an oil change a lot nicer. Took less than 5 minutes and no tools needed.👍🏼👍🏼
I ordered mine when I ordered the engine skid, so excited to try it out

I hear a gallon sized ziplock works well for stopping the mess. Pull it off and zip it shut. Never tried it myself.

Well I managed not to completely botch this job. If you want to give yourself more safety net you could make a hole a size bigger than the instructions recommended and just buy matching grommets but I went with the grommets grabars sells.
