New Tool Day

I have a 2014 Kubota, all metric also. My tractor says made in Japan but the loader is made in Georgia. I do love that little tractor, very handy and well thought out for operation and servicing.

Kubotas are made in Japan, disassembled, crated, shipped to Georgia and assembled. This bypasses some tariffs. Loaders are American made as well as any attachments. I believe LandPride is what the dealers supply at least here in SoCal and North Dakota.
On a side note my 2019 L6060 with39.5 hrs has been at my dealer since early Oct. Code says low fuel pressure. Dealer finally said bad injector pump. $4k for the part plus labor. Past warranty due to age. Gave the go ahead in Dec and I’m still waiting. My 2007 L3130 with 1K hrs has never had an issue. I got a deal on the L6060 at $12K under list and 2 round trip airline tickets.

Kubota bought Great Plains and Landpride a few or 10 years ago. Ironically they see the value that those brands carried with Deere dealers and haven’t discontinued those relationships, at least in my area. The local Deere dealers are the named Great Plains distributors vs the Kubota dealers. I guess it’s a mixed bag, cause in small tractors, Kubota is taking over, but in the large ag tractors, Great Plains is relying on the Deere dealership group for distribution, not Kubota dealers. It’s a fickle market for sure.

Yeah my 2014 was the last BX25 to not have DPF.

If I replace it, it'll be with old iron.

Dealing with my local Kubota dealer has been a nightmare. I do all my own work and order my parts from Messicks.

25hp and under isn’t subject to emissions. The new BX25 shouldn’t have DPF either.

My L6060 does not have a DEF system. Some how it uses heat to burn the exhaust. I do have to keep the revs up to 2K or higher otherwise the filter clogs up. Even though it’s twice the HP of the L3130 it uses 3 times the fuel.

DEF and DPF are different. Most under 50hp units do not have DEF, only a DPF. Depends on the manufacturer though.

I think some use DEF and some like the higher HP just use the DPF.

Most folks don't understand farm tractors unless they farm.

On most the 540 rpm PTO speed need to be run between 2000 and 2600 rpm ( depending on age and brand )

Even the small 15hp compact tractors have a high rpm for the PTO.

other way around, but yeah. Over 25hp requires some kind of treatment. Lower HP usually gets away with just a DPF. Higher HP requires DEF injection to meet the standards. Depends on the manufacturer but the cutoff is usually around 50hp to whether it needs DEF injection.

Yes my rotary tiller and brush hog need the rpms. Most of my tractor use is the loader, box scraper and land plane. I pull my drag with the TJ because it has a tighter turning radius when dressing my RV lot. Both my Kubotas are hydrostatic and have digital display of PTO speed.

It's honestly just the .gov ruining the agricultural industry.

DEF, DPF has been proven to be an engine killer, but let's make the family farmers have to use it knowing it's not a game changer.

When I ran bees commercially we did a lot of Idling and slow off road driving. Both played havoc with the DEF systems of my Frieghtliner and F550s. The DEF system failed on my F550 and it was a $10K bill. Cheaper to just delete it..

Oh I don’t disagree one bit. I work for a dealership group of one of these ag tractor manufacturers and personally own a pre-emissions tractor. Well aware of the shit show and the current Administration placing blame to the manufacturers instead of looking in-house to the EPA that mandated this bullshit.

Similarly I worked for 2 different class 8 dealerships and saw from the beginning how outlandish the DPF system was.

It turned million mile engines into cross your fingers, pray real hard and hope like there is no tomorrow, you can get 500,000 miles with no failure.

Then they went after the Offroad segment, construction and farming.

The Government requires things with no thought put into what it will take and what it will cost the end user.

And idling is one of the big killers of the after treatment system. But you have to idle.

It's a form of tyranny. Not joking.

Agree 100%, and I’m usually pretty neutral leaning toward the right but the President’s bullshit speech a few weeks ago blaming the tractor manufacturers for high prices because of emissions mandated by the government drove me up the wall. Stop blaming the manufacturers for meeting the demands of the bullshit EPA! Look inside your own house!

Most would call me a far right extremist, I see myself as a red blooded American, who's family has split blood on this soil since before it was a nation and fought in every war till desert storm.

Our .gov is a 2 headed snake and both heads are evil and corrupt. Both sides want power and money and could care less how they achieve their goals. They put on a show of for the people and the working man, and then stab them in the back.

I'm going to stop now because it's for a different thread on a different day.

I hate the left and I hate the right in politics because when it comes to DC they are the same.
