New Tool Day

Tool truck and then it a hit and miss. At least that's where I got the last ones I bought. Lifetime warranty from Matco.

Personally, I look for old school "used" in thrift stores and at yard sales, and the like. I know that doesn't help when it's a "I need it now!" situation, but once you find a couple of good ones, they typically last to where you don't need another.

Holy moly I am tired of having shitty tools

Honestly that's one reason I swapped all my sockets to impact rated.

I split a few chrome ones with a Mac impact, they were cheap sockets though.

I do have impact sockets but unfortunately they're 3/8 drive and I'm out of adapters lol. I might have to invest in some tools here I guess.

Try a black impact socket. They're a little more flexy, less brittle.

I am using one of those now but my impact doesn't have enough oomph and it broke my 3/8 ratchet lol. I'm even using a mapp torch now. I am probably gonna give up and order 1/2" drive sockets, it is probably going to tear this stud off when I get there.

Tekton is good right? I do not have tool truck money

I think Tekton is fine.

Use a 1/2" breaker bar and an impact socket. Try to tighten very slightly, then try to loosen, back and forth. Sometimes that will get it broken free.

I use HF more now. Pittsburgh has a life time warranty and they are only 15 minutes from the house.

I miss living that close to one... Now it's over an hour away. There is an ace hardware by me, they have craftsman stuff. Probably online warranty anyways.

How do we feel about craftsman stuff? It's kinda a better to deal be able to get metric and sae together.

Either that or something like this, but then I have to buy a second set to get SAE. The "both" kit is almost 300$ and probably not what I need, I don't know how often I'll use 1/2 drive

I would ask Ace about how they do the warranty. If Ace handles it, that's what I would go with.
