Name that tune: Jeep squeaking when driving

Please help me determine where this squeaking is coming from or things I could check? I think it’s coming from inside the cab but I can’t tell for sure. This happened before I had all new suspension and steering parts installed in January but has continued after the work was done.

You can solve most quirks of a TJ like this by turning up the radio.

Sounds like the Blower Motor or Fan Cage for the A/C up in the passenger footwell. It sounded like you had the blower motor ON.

Does the sound go away with the FAN in the OFF position?

If its not inside then crawl under your jeep and tighten each of the 6 body mount bolts on either side of the tub by 1/4 turn and see if it goes away.

I will verify tomorrow because I can’t remember crap but I think it still happens when the AC is turned off. I also noticed it seems to happen more when I get into 5th gear. I will have to do some more investigating.

If it only does it in 5th gear what happens if you're driving down the road and you press the clutch pedal in? Does the squeak go away? It might be your throwout bearing.

So verified today that the noise happens even with AC off and still happens if I push in clutch. Next is to see about the hood latch and body mount bolts.

It could be. I noticed the other day the passenger seat feels loose. I’ll check it out.

Try pushing the top of the passengers seat towards the door to keep it from vibrating and see if that stops the noise. It did on mine, so I made some new slider bushings based on forum posts and that stopped the squeaking.

Also look at the pedal assemblies notice how the brake pedal is shaking back and forth in your video. Take another drive and rest your foot on the brake , report back .
