The bug was built in 1986 I drove it to Spring break in Daytona and put it up for sale the next week, took 2 years to build with spare change I collected.

My '74 CJ-5 and my best friends 1967 CJ-5 Tuxedo Park

Not sure of the brand name of the tires, but they were Mud and Snow and had a similar tread pattern to the Tru-Tracs, but they were only 6.5 or 7 inches wide. If I went thru a mud hole after My buddy, I had a very hard time, because he made deeper and wider ruts....

Oh yeah. My first vehicle was a '71. Buick Dauntless 225 Odd Fire V6.

...and don't be hatin' on my shackles.

Funny - I still have, and occasionally wear, those boots. They don't make things like they used to.

I probably have posted a picture or two of my multi year 1970s CJ5 but here I go again. Almost everything mechanical including the whole wiring harness, dashboard, steering column and pedal assembly, along with the title are 1977. Everything you see and frame and rear axle were from 1972.

This is my son and I the first summer it was drivable. I wish I had painted the glass packs before taking that picture. The blue was to match the dashboard which looked like brand new and still had the VIN sticker.

Here it was, for sale in 1997 beside my s10 4x4.

Probably within a week of the for sale picture is my daughter at 13 months. You can almost see the dashboard was still blue.

I have no idea who this is and neither does the person that sent me these picture. This is some time after I sold it but before the last guy I bought it from raced it for 18 yrs.

And here it is in my ownership again when getting it ready to trailer in a memorial parade for the second or third owner after me passed away. FWIW, I wish it really looked that good. Most of the yellow, purple and even the tires are all painted with interior latex paint because it was easy to get matched in short order.
