Utah Moab in May 2025

I pass thru Monticello on my way, so I’d like to hit Elephant Hill on my way to Moab instead of backtracking - or I’ll meet up in town. Just curious!

Then you probably should just plan to meet at the trailhead. Don't forget to get your permit the day before

Generally speaking, are the Group 1 trails the more difficult? This might have already been discussed.

If anticipation is half the fun, I'm already having a BLAST!

Not necessarily, more like the trail most people are gonna do

Well, watching videos of Pritchett - it doesn’t look entirely impossible. Actually looks like a blast. I always thought it was just next level gnarly and you’d need to be V8 swapped on 42’s, so I never really looked into it.

Most of my experience is in the San Juans - which are just glorified service roads for the most part. I’ve done Hells Revenge ( Hells Gate and Mickeys for the only bonus obstacles), Fins and Things, and Poison Spyder in Moab.

It's doable on a decently built TJ on 35s. You'll need some balls for a couple obstacles or plan to winch.

I'm not sure when everyone will be getting to Moab, but I will be there by Friday morning. I am planning to do some trails Friday and Saturday. Who else will be in town, and want to hit some trails with me?

Let me check with Red Desert, they have to move me one spot over if I want to check in the 2nd instead of the 3rd. That was a week ago so..
Pretty sure I'm 8 hours to Moab.

Most definitely, anticipation is building!

I've wanted to do the trifecta for a while, just needed someone to do it with! Excited to check that off my list ☺️

Does anyone that is coming need a CB or GMRS radio for your rig? I've got hand held versions of either I could bring along for someone to use for the week.

I will have a couple handheld GMRS radios if needed. Doesn't hurt to have extras.

I removed my CB.

Given that many of you are from Central/Eastern time zones it seems like we could get on trails early and either get more in or have more time after trails for any repairs needed.

I'm in Central, and get out of bed around 10. What time is that in Moab?

🙂
