What the hell where was he going. Steelbender is right in town
Not sure I want to Turtle on a run... How the HECK did they flip there?
Is it feasible to do a trip to Sand Hollow some year? I don’t know how many trails there are or if there is a central town in the area.
EDIT: Ok, I looked up and remember now. Hurricane, UT, is the town. Trails are around the Sand Hollow Reservoir. Seems like a lot of trails, most on the difficult end of the spectrum, but definitely not all. This would be fun. New terrain.

Sand Hollow > Moab (my opinion)
Moab has some iconic trails, and great views. If you are wanting non-stop wheeling where you will be in 4low & locked up all day. Sand Hollow is the place. It’s a giant playground.
Hurricane is a good town to stay in, St. George is also close by. Plenty of dry camping in Warner Valley too.
Don’t get me wrong I love Moab, but Sand Hollow has been my top choice lately. I live about equal distance from both.
Holy Crap! I thought the thread was dead. Haven't received any email notifications on a watched thread and haven't checked in due to frantic upgrades on my Lance camper to be ready to roll May 1. So, 8 pages later, I find myself wondering about Sand Hollow.
I'm still a go for May so not on the dropout list again. Don't know how I'll perform down there but should look cool getting there.
Looking forward to following the leads to any type of trail, except maybe Pritchett and a couple others. Gonna be seat-of-the-pants experiment and plan to be flexible if nothing else.
Will frantically shop late in the month for my trail snacks and meals in camp, if any.
I won't bore you with the upgrades on the camper but it's been ongoing since Sept/Oct. and I'll likely complete it just in time to load up and roll.
Hoping to get the LJ to Montana for some high mountain kayak fishing this summer - and tons of mountain trails. Might get lonely but I'm too old to wait.
Thanks... makes me want to check out Sand Hollow even more...
I'm interested in the Lance project since I own 2 of them. I will be using my 981 in Moab again this year. Feel free to PM me about it if you have time.
Working hard on getting my Lance ready. Debating on whether I'll need AC this trip. Need to order and get a hand installing it.
Also, I asked at Red Desert if Friday, May 2 might be available so I can come in a day earlier.
Just barely quit snowing here last week and I have to take the top of for Moab - yeehaw!

What A/C are you looking at installing?
Houghton/RecPro 9.5k
Low profile @ 9"
Low noise @ 55db
I've got the 2 RecPro 13.5 Quiet Low Profile A/C on my motorhome. They are super nice and work well for the short amount of time I've gotten to use mine.
Good to hear that. I ordered the 9.5 with Soft Start (Honda 2200i when boondocking) just now. Ships Thursday.
Will see how that goes and might replace the one in my 5'er living room with a 15k and put either a 9.5 or 13.5 in the 5'er bedroom where there isn't one now. OEM stuff is outrageously LOUD.
