2005 ljr manual. i learned (probably here) that the mfsw connector melts and blows the underhood 20a mfsw fuse. sure enough mine was melted, but after replacing the connector the fuse still blows as soon as i insert it. with the connector disconnected from the mfsw the fuse is fine.

so i guess i'm replacing the multi switch unless someone knows something else i should check first.

thanks!

I would recommend looking at the service manual for your year jeep and test the MFS for any shorts causing that fuse to blow.

But, first check all the exterior bulbs to make sure none of them are shorting out, ive read a few different forums where the MFSW fuse would blow when they use their turn signal because a marker light was shorted out.

Its going to be a nightmare to figure out, but you can start with a new fuse and set the MFSW at default settings, then toggle a setting and check the fuse. rinse repeat until fuse blows. Once you figure out which setting leads to the fuse to blow, track down a possible short in that portion of the harness in reference to the service manual found here: 2005 TJ SM or from the Sticky thread: Jeep Wrangler TJ Factory Service Manuals (FSM) & Technical Documentation
