So recently I’ve just finished building my stroker. Driven it a total of 220 miles so far and have noticed that while I was pulling into an auto car wash, the engine start sputtering and acted like it wanted to die, the check engine light popped up and i immediately turned it off. After getting a scan tool it mentioned the MAP sensor, the vacuum is within spec from what I read, but it says the voltage circuit is high, is this just because the engines now a bigger displacement and I need to find an adjustable map sensor? As of lately after the code popped up. The engine idles and drives fine now but I hate having to see that CEL.

no,guys with older obd1 jeeps used those to trick the pcm into running richer. If you have higher than 5v on the reference circuit I would expect it to be shorting to a 12v wire somewhere.

You built a 5.0l stroker right? How do you like it?

Post the code and the more electrically inclined can give you advise

I’ll hook a multi meter on it and find out where there could be a possible short. Wondering if water got somewhere it shouldn’t have.

I’m actually loving it, gotta get used to the shift points now but it’s a lot of fun, really woke the vehicle up and the torque it’s got now is very exciting. I want to say it feels more powerful here in Wyoming 7k elevation after the build than it did stock back at home in Iowa with 800 elevation

I’ll find out what the exact code is here in a few, gotta check fluids and fix an exhaust leak

well when I went out to the jeep today, the check engine light was gone, wondering if water or something could’ve caused some sort of short. I did mess with the little rubber boot that goes onto the throttle body so maybe I didn’t have a good seal.
