Like the title says my map lights on the rear view mirror stay on. Right now i have a dead battery but if i remember correctly they go off once the jeep is off and doors shut.

First things first, get the battery issue resolved.
Secondly, check if the door switches are functioning properly. You can manually press the door switch on each door to see if the lights turn off. If they do, you might just need to clean or replace those switches.
If the switches are okay, a bit of troubleshooting with the wiring or connectors could help since there could be a short that’s keeping the lights powered.
Ok so I made a mistake. The map light stays on all of the time. It just drained the battery.
When the doors are shut the rear dome lights are off. working properly. just the map lights on the mirror.
Did the mirror come factory installed or did you install it after?
It sounds like you may have a wiring issue you're going to have to trace. Either that or the mirror itself could have a faulty circuit.
