The other option is the 4.3:1 Atlas. I've run both the 241OR and Atlas. I prefer the Atlas because you can run the rig in 2wd low, which I actually use quite a bit

AND you can use the higher transmission gears in low range, making it NOT "useless for anything except rock crawling."

If my memory is correct, you need to distinguish between the TJ and JK 241 cases. The TJ version has a speed sensor on the output, while the JK version does not. Which means if you install a JK 241, you need a different way to read a speedometer.

Good to know. I found a NP241 from an '07 JK. I am trying to find out if I can make that work.
