Looking to sell 2006 TJ, help with valuation

In Pennsylvania which probably isn't much different salt-wise than Illinois that TJ is listed at 10k, a week or two later it's 8k or less, & even then it'll be there 10 weeks later...

The market is in the absolute shitter, sadly the folks in the market for non-mint TJs are fresh out of cash to piss away on toys.

Lower miles, some mods, some + and -. Looks as if the frame has been "painted" or treated in some way ?
Only way to find out is list it. Can always take down if not sell, or reduce price as Willy suggests ?

The Jeep looks solid but the market is destroyed. You might be better off holding on for a couple years if that's possible. Use an endoscope on the inside of the frame if you haven't already, and get the surface rust between the frame and center skid wire wheeled off, should be able to sell decently. Good luck with the sale.

Do you have the full doors? It would be a hard sell if you offer it with no doors.

I also see that as a red flag. Some people just like the way it looks/functions, but far too many use thick coatings like that to hide rust and/or damage.

As for how that effects the OP selling, it may or may not, it just depends on the potential buyer, much like paint color does.

It can be, see my post above. Personally, it would be a negative for me since I don't like the look and potential issues, and if I found any evidence of damage under it, I'd just walk away. Someone else might like it, and potential buyer "C" might not a clue about anything in this world and just like the color of your Jeep.

I would sell it with the doors. You will loose more value than the door are worth separately. I wouldn't even look at a Jeep without doors unless it was really, really cheap. If you had the full doors, it would be a different story.

Lu I was rear ended and the insurance adjuster’ totaled it’ ( ridiculous )
It’s a 2006 TJ rubicon with 40k miles.
They offered me 17k. I went on line and sent them loads of examples of cars being sold for way more than this.
To my surprise they settled on 24k !
I bought it back for 4k and replaced the rear bumper and rear cross member and it’s as good as new. I had all the geometry checked and it’s perfect. Subsequent I went to renew my license and it is not on a salvage or anything buts another story lol ( about it being taken from body shop to compares without my convent, but another day for that one

Interest rates are ABNORMALLY VERY HIGH

Vehicle market is crashing
Toy market is also crashing first and faster
(20 year old depreciated Jeeps fall into “toy” class)

These are bad times coming and indicators
This is why theyre starting another war unfortunately
We are so far overdue for a crash/correction its not even funny

If you need it gone, Id price it to sell quickly
What someone got in 2020 isnt gonna fly in 2025
Just got back from FL and market is flooded with toys being firesaled privately

im shipping a bike home that was $6K under market just 2 years ago
Doesnt sound like alot, but its a 30% price drop
