I ended up getting the Kicker Comp RT 6.75 DVC 2-ohm for cheap, so I am looking for an amp now that will fit under the driver side dash to power it. I also have 4 Infinity Reference REF507F powered by an Alpine UTE-73BT headunit. Most post I have found reference the DVC 1-ohm version version which makes a difference since I can only wire mine to 1-ohm or 4-ohm. Should I look at a single amp to power the 4 REF507F's and the Kicker? I am not trying to spend a lot and I don't think name brand matters much if I can find a review where it was tested and can power the Kicker at around 150 watts RMS. And, it fits under the dash.

Some I found for just the Kicker:
PLINIUS PHF450D
Skar Audio RP-350.1D
NVX VADM1
Soundstream Stealth Single Shot ST1.500D

I did the same thing you're talking about. Used a JBL a6004. You just need a plate that will bolt it to your steering column.

That tiny sub doesn't need much power. You could do a 5 channel amp if you want it to have it's own power. Otherwise, just add it to the 4 channel.

Kicker, Infinity, NVX, JBl. Pretty much and decent brand that fits your size requirement.

I have the Infinity Kappa 5 in my DD. Not very small though. I have a small 4 channel Alpine in the Jeep and got a powered sub.

So, you are saying I could use a normal 4 channel amp to power the other speakers and the sub? How would a wire that up? I was really only looking to power the sub, but I am curious how to use a 4 channel amp that way.

The OEM wiring has it sharing the power. My second TJ has the quadratec sub off the head unit power.

A mono block dedicated amp for a single 6.5" is just overkill.

I thought the OEM had a small 40ish watt amp powering the factory sub.

I'm not an audio expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but I believe you would wire front speakers parallel and the rear, then wire the sub bridged. But it would depend on the amp you got.

I just put the 4 channel under the dash and my mono block attached under the seat. I got the kicker comp rt 8 myself. They're good ass subs lol.

I ended up getting the NVX VADM1 to power the Kicker Comp RT 6.75. I used a Skar 8ga amp kit to wire it. The headunit is an Alpine ute-73bt. One problem I am having though is the sub isn't very loud unless I really turn up the bass on the radio. The 5.25's in the dash are louder and they are powered buy the headunit. I went to adjust the gain on the amp with a voltmeter and I couldn't get any reading on my voltmeter when set to 200AC while playing a 60hz tone. So, I decided to check the voltage on the RCA cables and jacks coming out of the headunit, and I still got nothing. Maybe my voltmeter isn't good enough to measure the 1-2V AC on the RCA jacks, but I would have thought it would have read the 20+V AC on the amps speaker outputs. My other son has the same headunit, so I am going to try and measure the voltage on his RCA jacks next weekend. I guess it could be a bad headunit. It was bought new back in December. Let me know if you think of anything to try. Atleast the amp install looks nice.

Bracket I built for the amp.

I'm showing the Alpine is 18W X 4 RMS, NVX is 320W X 1 at 2ohm. No idea what is wrong, I'm not familiar with installation. I would think the NVX with the gain turned way down would still be plenty of power when compared to your HU.

The dual 2ohm sub is wired for 4 ohms. The NVX is 180W x 1 at 4ohms. The sub is rated for 150W RMS, so pretty much perfect for it. I think I did figure it out though. I found a setting called SUBW LEVEL that can be set to OFF and 0 - 15 in the headunit. I thought it was a bass boost or eq setting. Although after lots of reading online last night it appears to control the voltage on the RCA outs with 0 being just a few mV and 15 being the full 2V. It was defaulted to 0 and that would explain why it was so quiet and I couldn't read anything with my voltmeter. I bumped it up to 15 and it sounds way better. I am going to open it back up and test the voltage and set the gain correctly this weekend. I just left the gain at half way as I couldn't get a reading yesterday.
