Exhaust work sucks, and is exhausting to us non-exhaust professionals. Yes, it's a mouthful, but true! ;)

Yeah it's not my favorite. I helped my brother put mild steel on his chevy c10 but that was far easier than this. It was also just mild steel so easy to weld up.

Here is the muffler hole and cause of my previous leak. Can't believe I missed this before install or that it made out the door.

That sucks, but on the plus side the muffler is both compact and quiet 🤫

Yes it is. I can actually get to that upper control arm bolt now 😂.

Exhaust pipe is a northeastern Exhaust unit in stainless. I wanted mandrel bends vs the crimp bends the Walker unit has. Price was about the same too.

Walker 33231 is their stainless version if the 2.25 butt clamp

I think it's good now. I found another walker stainless locally. This walker muffler is really quiet, basically stock. I kind of wanted a little grumble. I think my stock exhaust was louder at idle anyway. 😅

I get a little leak by the clamps. I'll see how it does for a while.

Main think is everything is stainless down to clamps and it clears the track bar and shock. Its also just above the bottom of tank skid.View attachment 535868

I need to cut this tailpipe a little just for looks. I don't like that hook down very much. Plus my stock one nearly bent shut on rocks.

My walker had a nice rumble to it. Give it a little time to break in and hopefully it'll give you what you're looking for sound-wise. Wife could always tell when I was coming home when I was around the corner (dog was always ready to greet me too ;) No stealth mode like the rest of my 'fleet').

I had a flowmaster not long after getting the TJ and my buddy put a 'stock' replacement in his TJ. He had a similar sound as mine over time. It was good enough that I went 'stock' when I replaced the flowmaster.

Now I have a Banks ready to go in to replace the rusting muffler so we'll see how that sounds (and if it fits with the TT).

That is a good one for future reference!

That is a good one for future reference!

I figured you would like that!

I adjusted my rear pinion to zero compared to the drive shaft. It's smoother but still get the slightest vibe at just over 50 mph. over 70 is massage chairs still, but a lower setting now. This is no front driveshaft in. I may to get the angle above 1 degree/ pinion down.

I'll call tom woods tomorrow for suggestions.

More testing today. Rhythmic vibes as you approach 70 with the front drive shaft in. With just the rear, vibes don't start until north of 70. I spoke to @Shawn at Tom Wood's today who said it sounds like a balance issue due to the rpm at 70 plus.

I'll get my front drive shaft balanced locally and eventually pick up a new one from Tom woods.

Jeep also left a tire mark coming in the neighborhood. I let my buddy drive it and told him to stand on the brakes. He was not expecting what happened. At about 20 mph, it locked the front up and left a 2 foot skid mark on the road 🤣. Brakes are working great!

Shocks are a bit stiff but we will see how they do next weekend.

Taking the time to fine tune the bump stops and sway loc also removed my tire rubbing at ride height. Adjusting the arms just above parallel but not soo much that they hit the grill at full bump.

it's coming together nicely. Hopefully it works well off road .

275 miles into the break in and it seems to going ok. I had a little gear oil spitting out of the breather today. I'll keep and eye on it. I was doing more interstate runs so hopefully it's just a correction from an overfill.

I am using a high pinion diff cover in the rear and filled it to the plug for break in. Arb doesn't act like it's leaking. Locker and compressor have been engaged for 20 plus minutes and the compressor is quiet.

Hit the 500 mile mark on the regear. Changed the rear fluid, everything looks good. It puked some more gear oil out. Seems to only do it when I hit 70mph or higher on moderate interstate runs. We will see if I got fluid level better this time. Closer to 2 quarts.

Unfortunately No wheeling this weekend. Kids don't want to go. I may end up parting ways with this thing in the future as it seems, more and more, wife and kids aren't as big of fans of this wheeling thing as I am.

Maybe let them drive?
