The electrical connectors are keyed and cannot be swapped unless they are modified.
That is my picture of my Rubicon air pumps relocated to the ABS tray, btw.![]()
I asked which wires and got no reply. That's why I ignored the response. All I see under there is a plug which I posted a picture of and still got no response. So could you help me out with a picture of the wires you are referring to?
It's quite possible I did not respond because I stepped away from this forum. I just happened to be scrolling when I saw your question and offered a pretty simple solution during some weekend morning coffee (as I'm doing now). I'm happy to see someone else had a better way of explaining the exact solution I gave, and your issue will be solved.
This is the sensor in the axle that tells the cluster the axle is locked.

Check the connector and wiring harness.
DO NOT REMOVE it from the axle. You have to remove the carrier to install this switch.
Have you had any axle work done?
Just had new ring and pinion, bearings and seals done.
Your guy screwed up the locker sensor inside the housing.
Read this, specifically the parts about the toothpick.

You should have led with that. I can't ever get back all the time I've spent diagnosing a problem brought to me and after hours spent chasing my tail, I finally get the one critical piece of info that makes it all click into place.Just had new ring and pinion, bearings and seals done.
Thank you for figuring this out for me. Hopefully my mechanic will understand the mistake and be able to use this method to fix it!

Had you led with that, it would have been the first answer to fix the problem.
The connectors are keyed and different. The only way the pumps were backwards is if someone spliced on the other connector.Yea but I did find out that my pumps and airlines were backwards, lol.
You are my ideal customer. I really like it when my standards can be that low and I still get paid full price. Here's the other option, if you've checked and your front locker is in fact locking, the blinking light has no bearing on that (the locker ring inside the diff is what activates the plunger diff switch). As often as a front locker is used, you could just run it as is and not worry about the blinking light. That's of course if your axle guy refuses or wants to charge you money for fixing it and you are uncomfortable with the fix yourself.

Doesn't change that the only way to reverse the pumps is to change the connectors. Who touched the pumps? The pumps were put on the bracket backwards and upside down. That is why the airlines looked normal.

Who switched the air lines? You are correct about the connectors. They are specific to each pump. The airlines were switched.
