Hey, question on lifting my jeep! I recently bought a 99 TJ with a 2.5" lift kit already installed. I want to raise it to a 4". Question is this; Do i need to buy a complete 4" lift kit or can I just modify what I have? Obviously I'll need bigger springs, But do I need to swap out the control arms, Pitman arm, ect. Basically, what is the cheapest route to go? The shocks are Bilsteen that are fairly new, so I'd like to keep them if possible.

The easiest way is what @Duck Doctor described. It avoids a ton of issues with going to a 4” suspension lift. All you’d need to do is a 1.25” body lift, I’d also do a 1” motor mount lift, raise your gas tank fill tube and that’s about it. From there you can do some free mods like the gas tank tuck or inexpensive mods like the raised body mounts, or expensive mods like a tummy tuck.

What they ^^^ said.
And if you're getting by now without an SYE and DC driveshaft, you'll need to add those for a taller spring lift.
