Let's see your front bumpers!

Question; Are Paramount products good quality? I've seen their sliders on ebay for under $200 with steps, but I'd never heard of them.

They're just another one of the Chinese knock-offs such as EAG, Smittybilt, etc. I used to have one. They are fine quality and never gave me any issue.

Is anyone bothered by the idea that this same bumper is sold under several dozen different brands names?

It's the same thing with the LED headlights as well.

It's the Chinese way of doing business. It bothers me greatly.

This is hardly a defense, but there are only so many ways to design a distinctive headlight. And at the end of the day, it still needs to fit into a 7" opening. The possibilities for bumpers are nearly endless, but instead we have the opportunity to buy one identical product from 3 dozen "unique" companies. And that's what we do.

It's kind of the other way around for me. It's that all the different brands are selling the same product. Years ago, the various brands had their own products. Similar, but their own, (how many different ways can you make a tube bumper?) Now, they all buy the same product and sell it as their own. I think that's why Jerry Bransford has such a Mad On for Smittybilt. They used to make their own products here in America, but now they're just the same as the rest of the suppliers.
Heck, if I was making something, and ten different vendors wanted to sell it, I'd supply them. But that's supply and demand at work.

I don't know man... look on Amazon at 7" LED headlights. I can link to probably at least 50 different designs. Some of them with only minor changes from one another, but others with some pretty major design changes.

Not as many possibilities as their are bumpers, I admit that, but still. I'm very tired of seeing the same headlight listed under 30 different brand names. Especially when the majority of people don't actually realize it's the same headlight, just marketed under a different name each time. Some are charging $100 for them, while others are charging $500 and getting away with it!

Here's a picture of my front bumper on my 2002.
Not sure of brand, bought off of Ebay. Next purchase will be a winch.

Im surprised at the number of brands with the exact same number. I dont care for that particular bumper so I never looked into it, but geeze...15 different companies with the EXACT same model.

I imagine the factory in China would be delighted to sign up as many distributors as want to be in line, and will gladly stamp as many of their names or put stencils on the bumper as want it...
