It’s fun up there and I’m surprised it isn’t more popular than it is. The area around Camp 5 has some of the best crawling out there and once you are off the beaten tourist path there is hardly any traffic on the trails. There are a lot of 62” wide max trails up there so we spend a lot of time up there with our SxS but we make an annual trip up there and usually rotate between motorcycles, SxS’s and Jeeps, granted I haven’t had a Jeep up there since 2007. Post up when you go, I’d be up for it.

i seem to keep coming through here every ten years after the rally. last time was the 75th now it’s 85th merch every where.
Yeah, we always go in June. My tolerance for crowds is close to zero. If you’re there now, stop at the Branding Iron in Nemo. Great steak and owned by nice people.
the family ranch was in Hermosa. grandmother sold it in 1996 for 2 million. it’s now worth $20.
had i been a blood grandson. probably would of gotten 40 acres for free. instead my step dad said “nah, i’m good”

Jeeptober is upon us! As usual, it'll be in Buena Vista. Trails will be Chinaman Gulch and if there is anyone interested, we can run Carnage Canyon up to the waterfall. If anyone is interested in a mild run, post up and will see if there is enough interest.
Saturday, October 4th. Meet at the Gunsmoke at 9 for a 9:30 departure to Chinaman. If there is interest to run Carnage, we should do it after Chinaman to allow any buggy groups to access Carnage first so we don't hold them up.
Recommend at least one locker for Chinaman along with 35's. @lBasket is exempt because he dgaf.
Carnage requires two lockers, minimum of 35's, and a working winch. You may get through part of the trail without it, but if you need it, it will put the group in a bind as there isn't room to get around or position appropriately.
Should be a good day, we'll just have to keep an eye on the weather.

There is no try, only do. And it's only up to the V notch. It's about two hours round trip.

I've been off the forum for the last few months. I'm putting the 4th down on the calendar! That gives me time to get my crap together. Been getting an interesting whine at 3000 RPM's that's concerning. Can't track it down... Probably will post an "I need help" thread latter when I can dig into it.
