Jeeps Parking Next To Other Jeeps

When I was in Germany the 2nd time I'd bought this Ford Ranger pickup that was 4WD from my neighbor. It was a fun little pickup and my 1st winter I was pulling down to the commissary parking lot on a weekend after it had snowed because I wanted to play a little...
There was a pile of snow over in the corner where the plow had pushed it so I thought "Here Hold My Beer & Watch This" except I was alone... Well, I didn't know that this p[ile had been there for a few weeks & was hard as a rock.... I thought I was going to blast through it and that would be it. I hit that pile around 40 MPH and that TTB front end made some really unhealthy noises but survived somehow... I got some serious air and I got bang up a little since I wasn't wearing my seat belt.

Whoops ice is a lot harder than snow

For Christmas we packed everything in the JLU and headed to Va Beach to visit our sailor. Here’s a little parking photo for the team…

If anyone is really looking at this photo I spent 3 days abusing my son about his winch line. When he was deployed @mrblaine set me up with some parts deals that couldn’t be matched and that synthetic line was on the list. It seems i will need to send him a Wizard thimble retaining fairlead and a plate bracket. I intend to use his CC for the purchase 🤣

No one took a picture, but the winter of 1974 or 75, i drove my CJ5 up on top of a pile of snow that tall and got high centered..... After laughing at me for a few minutes a couple of guys were able to rock it off of the pile..... Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a pile of snow that big since I have owned my TJ....

My TJ beside my wife’s JLU at the end of our ride today. Took my uncle Jeeping for his first time

Bonus ice climbers behind us

Awesome ride- once I found the climbers in the pic the scale of everything came to life.

Really cool pic.

The North Meadow Creek side or Day 3 (North Meadow Creek/McKelvey Lake) photos. I wasn't too sure about taking a relatively untested TJ on this trail but the new to me TJ did ok. But I did manage to bend the draglink. I'm an opinionated old fart, but I think the McKelvey Lake trail is the best wheeling in the state. My first trip in there was 1969 in my spanky new CJ5. No damage but I did get it twisted up bad enough that it killed the engine and nothing would come out of gear. The Warn overdrive saved the day as it did pop into neutral and released everything. I still have that CJ.

Cliff Lake, a short hike from McKelvey. It was my favorite place in the Roots for several decades but the influx of UTV's sort of makes it a busy place these days. Some pretty fine skiing to be had in that cirque.
