Jeeps are shit

I mean. They are. Jeeps are very much a one trick pony, but that's the point.

The quality has always been terrible for the money and they perform poorly in almost every vehicle metric, but what else on the market crawls around as well for the price?

I really like my TJ. It's in excellent shape. Fun to drive. Can't think of another vehicle which would do what I want.

But I still mumble "piece of junk" under my breath quite regularly. They have sooo many bad design decisions, such low quality. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

As a driver TJs are pretty much garbage compared to anything relatively new and they don't even stack up well compared to its contemporaries for all the previously mentioned reasons. If I didn't offroad one that is built I couldn't be paid to own one. "It's a Jeep thing" and pavement pricesses completely baffle me.

283sK on my 99 Tacoma. I'v owned it over twenty years. Two fuel pumps only. Five batteries, Ten sets tires. When I read other Wrangler forums about those newer ones I can't believe the very serious issues. Those engine problems could bankrupt a poor family.

This sticker came with my brothers land cruiser parts… thoughts?

LCs weren't bad back when they still had solid axles. Basically minivan status since then.

And yeah, if there was a removable top, coil sprung, solid axle 4x4 that was quieter and got better mileage and was better supported by its manufacturer when it comes to OEM replacement parts, and was available in the same price range as a TJ, I'd probably just as likely be driving that right now.

It's always fun to define yourself by being opposed to something else. Its like the University of Oklahoma. No matter who their opponent is, they throw the "horns" down. Their identity isn't anything about themselves, its constantly and perpetually "Texas Sucks".

Jeeps are shit just comes across as desperately trying to prove something. "Yeah, well at least we're not Jeeps!"

As an OU alum, that is one thing that I've always found stupid that my fellow fans do. We don't define the success of a season by whether we beat Texas or not, so that gesture is dumb.

But... Texas DOES suck. 😉🤣

I think most of us here knew what Jeep’s were before we purchased one. Fun to drive , bust your knuckles , and just to look at. No one ever said ”hey man , nice Prius “

My little manual on 33's is a ripper on the road. I can keep up w most traffic on the highway (legally 65mph) but plenty of us get up to 75 and 80. Though, I rarely take it there, but it whips around nicely. If only it was more practical. 😩

Nothing puts a bigger SMILE on your face than a JEEP you have made your own and drives like shit, then gets TERRIBLE fuel mileage
