2000 TJ 4.0. Just took the battery out, cleaned up both terminals with a Dremel along with the battery posts themselves. Installed battery back into Jeep, turned the ignition and NOTHING. Horn does not blow, lights wont turn on. What the heck did I do wrong? Double checked to make sure I had the negative to negative and positive to positive that's all set. Soooo any ideas? Jeep was running fine before, no issues whatsoever. Readings on the battery gauge prior to this was right at 14 all the time.

I had a similar problem to what you are describing.
I would check the connections between the wires and the clamps that goes on the the battery.
On mine, oxidation on the wires was preventing a good connection between the wire and the clamp. A little vinegar cleaned it up.

You can check it with a multimeter. On the continuity setting, see if you have a connection between the ground terminal on the battery and the frame. If you don't, it is probably the connection with the clamp and the wire.

Thank you, Gatechtj, I checked it once but will do it again. I just noticed with the key on if I unplug and then plug the cps in it sounds like an arc but I can't find it and I think the asd is clicking but is that normal or bad?

The asd clicking could be an indication of a poor connection not allowing enough current for the relay to stay engaged.

Sserdula, are you having the same issue that Aaron Paul was having?
I just noticed he started this thread, but you seam to have jumped into it as if you were experiencing the same issue.

Hey yalllllll. Just cause ur multi meter shows 12 or 14 volts that doesnt matter. You need to get your batteries test for AMPS which your multimeters will most likely not show. if you have a spare battery with similar CCA then hook that up give it a shot. A battery can become dead at total random or wear over a period.

And if your going to jump from another vehicle it will need to be comparable to your Cold Cranking AMPS as well. my honda is like 300cca but my jeep needs like 550cca just a range dont hold me to it

and before you blow a fuse on your multi meter trying to find amps if it wasnt a few hundred dollars it wont read that high and will blow the 10a fuse in it.
