"State Farm". Say no more...
I don't know if it is as much them being clueless, or no sense of urgency time-wise since they are not on the hook for the rental. As far as the jeep dealership service department, to not be able to diagnose a clear steering issue is inexcusable. At one point they actually said something to the effect of "we don't want to just throw parts at it". Which is precisely what they have been doing.
Can you take it to a different dealer at this point?
State Farm used to be FABULOUS. I was a customer for 39 fucking years. No more...
I've never worked for a dealership, so I have no idea if I should be surprised that they've even taken a TJ in for some nonregular diagnostics for a problem that didn't have a recall or service bullitin but I am kinda surprised. I'm also wondering how they could even find a steering column.
Steering column, hmmm.... there's a power steering gearbox at the front end of it. Maybe that's the problem.
How did I hear about you? Written on the bathroom wall in BFE.Codes go in the where did you hear about us box.
So I received a check from the at faults insurance company. The repairs were "completed" in 2.5 months. They say they are only paying for 1 month of $31 a day. I was never told that there was a limit, nor was I at any point in control of the speed of repairs. We were over $5k out of pocket for the rentals. Their check is just over $1k.
What a nightmare.
