Ol Yeller isn't exactly a big tire rock crawler, but does have decent wheels, and I frequently just have my sunshade on top and my rock doors on. Also the big winch on the front. I get a lot of smiles and looks and waves, and kids love to gape - it's just a big toy, ya know.

(My license plate also says GEEKY on it, so I get a lot of smiles for that one)

It's not just TJ's though. Before I had my TJ, I had a lifted gray JK 4 door, and I'd get lots of smiles and "nice jeep!" for it. Once I went into a fast food place and someone said "Hey, I love your jeep! That's exactly what i want!" (from a probably 19 year old).

It does make ya feel good, dunnit?

I had a guy walk up to me once at a dairy queen, said "its hard to find a clean jeep like that, they all rust out from the inside, what year is yours?" I replied with "a 97", his response, "No way! Thats way to clean to be a 97! Looks like you take really good care of it". That was a nice feeling, I do keep up-to-date on all maintenance and I try to wash it every couple of weeks with a wax/polish a few times a year.

I actually get compliments more often than I ever thought I would...but maybe its cause I travel so much and am all over the place. I also offer compliments to nice Jeeps often too so maybe its karma coming back around.

Same here! I always wonder if that poor kid will grow up and buy one of these money pits LOL

One early morning recently I pull into Wal-Mart and the parking lot is mostly empty.
A mini van had just parked and a woman was unloading her kids.

As I was coasting to my parking space about 40 ft away her little boy (maybe 3 y.o.) broke loose and bolted toward my jeep, pointing and saying a bunch of something in spanish... the mom had to sprint to catch him!

I think the translation was, "Nice Jeep!"

My jeep sort of looks like a big toy. I think the kid thought my jeep was part of his toy car collection..lol
I understand why. Great looking Jeep.

I love it when I pull up next to a JK in the Summer and they're sitting there, windows up, aircon on and I'm in my Jeep with no doors , top down..and my kids and I laughing and having a great time..... we do get more waves when Bruiser is in "Summer mode" Most people here first comment is "I bet that guzzles the gas?" my answer is "yes...but its worth it"

Ive had quite a few compliments on my jeep, and i work from home so it's been sat on my drive for 6 week since I purchased, but everyone seems to love it which is great, the good thing is in the UK loads of people have land rover defenders so Jeeps especially older ones are not often seen here.

Soon after I got my TJ I was cruising with the top off and doors off and the first thing I noticed was I get stared at real hard by Kids and dads! I assume the kids are fascinated and the dads are jealous!

A while back a lady walked into my wife at the camp trail and said I am a "bonner" pointing at me and we all cracked up.
My wife and I were confused for a short while and eventually she said I have two bone stock rigs.
Some alcohol involved of course :)

Teenage boys drool over them. Girls love them . Cyndi Lauper was right.

Most every 30 something woman at church flipped over it ....I was astounded...said it was their dream vehicle. I had no idea .

I don’t know if it’s the KC ‘s or what, but I have never had so many comments-sure enough a conversation starter. Almost makes you self conscious.

I think a Jeep says something about your personality, that you enjoy life .

I let a nice young couple take it for a lunch date after church.....they barely made it back for evening service- grinning ear to ear.

It’s really no wonder they have the highest resale of any American made vehicle, and 3rd highest overall .
