One early morning recently I pull into Wal-Mart and the parking lot is mostly empty.
A mini van had just parked and a woman was unloading her kids.

As I was coasting to my parking space about 40 ft away her little boy (maybe 3 y.o.) broke loose and bolted toward my jeep, pointing and saying a bunch of something in spanish... the mom had to sprint to catch him!

I think the translation was, "Nice Jeep!"

My jeep sort of looks like a big toy. I think the kid thought my jeep was part of his toy car collection..lol

Kids like lifted Jeeps with big tires. I know a guy that has a TJ with Dana 60’s and 40’s. He pushes sprint cars with it and the kids go wild.

Those comments are what I'm lookin for.
What did the rangers say?
I think one was just a simple nice Jeep, and then the other ranger was warning people about a small water crossing to get down to Pfeffier beach and he said there’s a small water crossing but it’ll be like a puddle for you.

Did he say, "Soy tu hijo! Soy tu hijo!?"

If so.. I don't think he was talking about your jeep.

I get complements often. It’s kinda nice lol.
Most recently. Which was odd. Someone commented on my license plate. Not what it says but how it’s mounted. I have it curved around the tub. Nothing crazy. They said it was cool and they have never seen that before lol.

We live in a small tourist town. It’s a quaint place but the tourists, well, let’s just say, it sucks on the weekends. They are everywhere, like ants. So, I’m pulling out of an alley (we know where to drive to avoid tourists), and this crazy lady yells at the top of her lungs, “That’s Bad A—“. I just give her the Jeep wave and move on.

Another day I was at Sutherlands, a lumber company around here, I run in to get something and my boys stay in the Jeep. When I get back they inform me that two men were standing out there talking about the Jeep and telling them how they’re dad had done it up real good.

But my favorite compliment was one of silence. My wife and I were driving in a nearby town and decided to stop by the pet store to look at hamsters for one of our many wonderful children. As we turned in there was a JKU pulling out. He had his wife or girlfriend with him. He looked at me and immediately looked down and away. It was a peculiar moment. I knew what he was thinking. So I’m quietly thinking about it for 5 seconds when my wife says, “That guy was jealous of your Jeep.” Exactly my thought.

That surprises me. Lotsa jeeps in the PNW, aren't there ?
Maybe you should drive it around and show it off a bit more ..? :)

Lots of Jeeps, but all I ever really see around here is JKUs. I rarely see TJs.

Now you got the Pintlers, so get ready for compliment time!

I wonder how many people actually know what some of these AEV TJ parts are? Heck, I didn't even know about a lot of it until I started looking around more.

I guess that’s true. One day I saw a JK or JKU with some JK Pintlers. I pointed them out to my wife and said, “Those are premier wheels for a TJ, AEV, all that jazz. I’d like to get some.” She just said, “Nah, I like what you’ve got now better.” But enthusiasts know better.;)
