Is this an OEM master cylinder?

I don’t have just a crappy Cardone or something though, do I?
I took it off my TJ and sent it off to get rebuilt because the rear seal was leaking.
I was in a hurry to get it shipped out and it didn’t even occur to me that it might not be the OEM.
So I found this TJ master cylinder on ebay that has the same SS symbol as mine cast in but also has Bendix cast into it.

You know what? I fussed around looking high and low for a new OEM as well. There's lot of dialogue about how great the originals are, and how shitty the aftermarket are, etc etc.
A few points; if the original OEM is so amazing, why do they all leak fluid into and all over the front of the brake boosters? I've not had a car that does this before. Why are we so stubborn to only use the same unit with a nearly 100% failure rate.
I ordered a new one from Power Brake Exchange in San Jose, who also rebuilt my OEM booster and swears against Chinese junk, but the one I received came in an unmarked box. It appears to be high enough quality, is working great, and isn't leaking all over like the original.
If you get one that eventually begins failing, it will take less time to simply replace than you will spend lording over the minutiae of is this original or not. Ultimately, this isn't a McLaren F1 we're talking about, and it's clamping down with the crudest of disc brakes that I've ever seen.

Are you related to zorba? Do you know of a part on any TJ that doesn't have a 100% failure rate?
They are not. We see them completely worn out and in dire need of replacement. The lever to the actuator rod tends to bend which results in the paddle being moved to the full extent of its motion without moving the rod far enough to release the latch.
