My OEM clutch master cylinder was leaking a little (not bad for 27 yrs old) so I decided to replace it. Of course I heard the standard recommendation for OEM which is either not available or like $500 so no thanks. Jerry repeatedly said Luk and/or Sachs was who made the Mopar stuff so I ordered a Luk. It lasted and 10 miles before the slave came apart while driving. Looked like the c-clip that held the piston in the cylinder worked itself loose.
Okay, limped it home, returned it, and ordered a Sachs. Both the slave and the master bodies were made of plastic, just like the Luk. The Sachs didn't explode at least, but it felt very jerky/sticky when I let the clutch out slowly. I tried lubing where it grabs the clutch pedal and where the plunger pushes on the clutch arm thingy. No dice. Decided to try another Luk unit to see if it was the same. It felt better, but still kinda sticky and halting as I let the clutch pedal out slowly. Returned that and tried the cheapest one Rockauto sells which was Perfection Clutch. I noticed immediately upon opening the box that the master and slave cylinder bodies were both made of metal, not plastic. Installed it and it feels great. Very smooth engagement. Looks much sturdier to boot. Anyways, just thought I'd share for those that are still manly enough to row their own gears
