IPhone 14 or Inreach?

I use Tech putty to keep ports clean.

My X has been treated the same way, until I started using car play a lot. My Batt is at 64%… Wife and I have 14 pro max’s on order… I can’t wait to start using that camera! Other than Zoom, the 14’s camera specs best my 60D!

I’m sure Mrs App will upgrade. She can take my next ROTM photo.

Synology NAS is da bomb! Everything is backed up to both it, and leased cloud storage as well.

As for charging, I charge my phone every other Friday whether it needs it or not! ;)

Exactly what I do... I was a teaching wildlife photographer for years and had triple redundancy on all image backups. Local disk, Drobo NAS and cloud. Drobo is no longer a viable option so when I switched to an iMac this past December, I added a Synology NAS. Automated backups are seamless but what I really like is shared cloud storage for my family. It's like having a personal iCloud or Google cloud account without the ownership or expense associated with either.

Every OTHER Friday! LOL.. that's sweet. I remember those days.

You can't have too many backups. I have 3: The Synology NAS, a cloud based solution ($60/yr), and a rotating pair of local backup drives that I swap out monthly with one in a safe deposit box offsite - a kind of poor man's "Iron Mountain". If you don't have at least 1 backup set offsite, you need to reconsider. I had a co-worker who diligently backed up her laptop every day onto a portable hard drive. Said hard drive was in the laptop bag when the whole caboodle was stolen...

Back when I did software development, I had 6 copies of my work. At one point, I had to go "all the way out" to copy #6! Its a long story, not all copies were lost, but some were and the others were temporarily inaccessible, so the rolling 6 month archive of previous releases was what I restored from.

Technically I have two offsite. One full backup to the cloud via BackBlaze subscription service (I think I pay $80 annually) and the second to iCloud. I used to do a rolling month backup to to a Rev drive, but the volumes were ultimately too small and the format was no longer supported.
