Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ radiator

In need of aluminum radiator

I'm not sure I could confidently recommend a TJ to go another 100,000 miles at all now that we're 20 years post production

Time just makes fools of us all

Maybe not. But it sure would be nice to slow down and minimize the things that will eventually take out the engine.

I installed autozone duralast in a pinch. After the install everyone told me what a horrible mistake I made. Oh well that was 5ys ago. Got my $120 worth:ROFLMAO:

We need more context to assess your experience. Radiators do not fail when the vehicle has been parked for 5 years.

I drove it alot for three yrs after the radiator. My daughter has daily driven it for two yrs. She just bought a JK so I got it back a few months ago. Haven't driven it alot for those two months since I had to replace u joints and inner seals. Gotta replace the fuel pump when I get off my tail and find a little motivation, but the radiator hasn't hiccuped since I replaced it. Im not recommending duralast just my experience or maybe luck with it.

Well since I dont keep a milage log and my memory aint great as it use to be im gonna guess 30 40 miles a day 3 to 4 days a week. Back roads, hwy, light trails.

3 years X 52 weeks X 3.5 days X 35 miles = 19,110 miles on your Duralast radiator, plus however many miles you daughter drove it for an additional two years. Does that feel about right?

Alright. I dug up my old repair log. Looks like the radiator was done 01-01-21 at 110,000. I have 144,000 miles on it know. 34,000 on the Duralast. Guess it was an eventful New Years:p

The mileage log you wrote up this morning is almost believable!

"Almost believable" is good in my book.
Im beginning to think you gots sumthin gainst Duralast or Auto Zone :ROFLMAO:

All I want is to figure out which radiator to choose after my current Mopar pops in a few tens of thousands of miles. I don't care what brand it is, as long as it has a history of some level of long term reliability.

Man I completely understand. Duralast doesn't have the best reputation. My plan when I went after the cooling system was to go Mopar from all the recommendations on this site. I came up short being able to get one without a wait so I rolled the dice in a pinch and hit the local Auto parts store. I certainly wasn't expecting it to last this long. Good luck and what ever you get I hope you get a good one.
