Apparently only fits 97-01... (???)

He probably put that because the factory seals he bought to copy from said that would be my guess. If you can look up a part number for these seals and go through later years then it may work for them too. If you change the last two letter of the part number to what your a/c is on your jeep it may pop up and say this part number works for yours. Looking at mopar diagrams I think it probably would. I’ve had to do this looking at wiring harnesses.

The eBay seller told me if you wanted this to shoot him a message before you buy and if it didn’t work for you he would allow you to return it. Tbe above part number he looked up and shared it with me so I’m his foam should work to 2006

Look convincing to me - I just made an offer on one.

Interesting, if I run an '05 Wrangler Sport, it says it fits. If I run an '05 Wrangler Unlimited, it says it doesn't fit. 😀

I'm in need of a heater core replacement, think I might take a chance on these as I just checked mine and they feel a bit crispy...

Mine are from 98 actually 97. They are shot

I'm always a day late finding things like this. I just finished putting my dash back in this afternoon after replacing the evaporator. Hopefully the seller joins the community. I'd much rather order directly from them vs giving Ebay any money.

According to the '05 parts list, the part number for the seal kit is 5073174AA, but that kit would appear to include seals that are separate items for earlier years. I'm still thinking some or all of this might be usable. Either way, it's about the only option short of making your own, like many parts these are discontinued.

Hey everyone, I’m the guy who had the reproduction seal kit made.

I found out how hard these were to come by about a year ago and ended up overpaying quite a bit just to get a set. I figured if I was having trouble tracking them down, others probably were too. So I lined up some contacts, and after a few adjustments, we got a mold that cuts them perfectly — and it’s been awesome to see the interest here.

I’m currently debating making the rest of the foam seals for the exterior of the HVAC box as well, since a lot of those tend to be old, brittle, or torn. My goal is to make maintaining these Jeeps the right way as easy as possible, especially with parts that have become tough to source.

This is just the beginning — I’m planning to reproduce more small parts that are discontinued or just a pain to make from scratch. I’d really love to hear from you all:

What maintenance items or hard-to-find parts have you been struggling with lately? Whether it’s small rubber seals, brackets, oddball hardware — whatever it is, I’m all ears.

Big thanks to ChrisTJ98 for spreading the word — glad to be part of the community!

I am not sure the exact year, but I am assuming its a 97-01 and 02-06 but at some point, the blower motor went from being able to access from the engine bay behind the battery to accessing from under the dash in the foot well area. So it only does not fit the newer ones because you do not need the outer ring that seals the opening from the fire wall for the blower motor access but the smaller part for the heater core hoses and AC lines should be the same among all years.

I went ahead and bought one anyway to have on hand when "the day comes". It will probably be better than a poke in the eye with a mascara brush.

I'm scrolling through Amazon trying to find the right size weather stripping to do the rest of the foam seals where the hvac box mounts to forward vents. It's not in terrible shape but I'd like to replace it. I found blend door foam from blend door USA, kinda expensive but seems to be high quality stuff. I know its hard to decide if you should make the rest of the foam or not because how many times or how many people are actually redoing all this stuff. This is first for me in 26 years of it being brand new and I'm the only owner.

You know I had an episode with the horn button being stuck and no one makes that horn button that is behind the airbag. They do make after market steering wheels you can have a horn button but you eliminate the airbag. I don't know what it would cost to have that made or if it would sell but a ton of TJ's and Ljs out there and no horn button replacement. I found a YouTube video to fix mine but who knows how long it will last.
Just throwing some ideas out there.

Yeah, I noticed that on mine too. I've been trying to track down the part number for that foam so I can see what other vehicles it might cross over with. I can't imagine it's a super common thing to replace, but I’m sure it would make a few folks happy to have a proper solution. I’ll also look into that horn button — send me the video you mentioned when you get a chance.

Door seals that function and HVAC control panels for 97s.

Door seals would be great — definitely adding that to the list. Ill look at the HVAC controls as well!

Yes, I can absolutely offer a forum discount and send them to you guys direct. Just trying to make it easier to get the right parts without going through the hassle (or eBay fees). Appreciate the interest!
