HVAC air intake help

[Wild Bill's ‘98 TJ]

Hello everyone! I have a 1998 TJ Sahara. There is no HVAC intake cover on my Jeep. I’ve seen where it didn’t come with one and I’ve also seen where 55115157AB will fit it. I’m wanting to put one on due to floorboard water during heavy rains and possibly just washing it. Will this item actually work on mine?

How's your cowl drain?

My 97 didn't have one. Doesn't leak in Oregon rainstorms either.
