I plan to delete the AC in my 01 TJ project. I have it all disconnected (the body is off rigjt now). Wjat do I have to do in terms of the belt and the AC pump. Can i simply get a smaller belt and bypass that pulley?

I suppose if the body is off and you're 100% sure you don't want it, in terms of the belt, you can simply run the non-AC belt. Then just unbolt the compressor and pull it off being VERY sure to properly evacuate the refrigerant in the system .
My pulley on the AC compressor is seized up, which im assuming the clutch assembly is bad. m out of town and very limited at the moment on parts and tools. Is it possible to run a non AC serpentine belt while leaving the AC compressor and it's pulley in place? Basically just trying to bypass the AC to get it back on the road, but not sure if the pulley would be in the way if doing so? This would be a temporary band aide until I can get the Jeep back home and fix it properly.
The non-AC belt is a direct replacement and can be used to bypass the AC compressor, my 2003 had a belt diagram near the grill. Yours may or may not depending on the year, but you can find it in the FSM's available on the forum. The compressor should ideally unbolt, though I've never done a 4.0 TJ compressor.

If you are going without ac, I would leave the pump in and turn it into a high volume air compressor. That way you always have air and only need to carry a hose. Fill your tire in one minute.
I had one on my Magnum engine because I was going to try to install A/C again at some point.... The Hemi didn't have A/C when I bought it but I added a compressor and the other required pulleys.
I honestly don't know why they make them. One reason I could see is if your car came with A/C and your compressor failed it's a temp fix until you can get the new parts to have A/C again. Because on some engines going from A/C to non-A/C is more than just deleting the A/C compressor.
My little 4 angry squirrels had A/C on it but when I did the V-8 swap the shop didn't add it back on like I'd asked. And by that point I just wanted my Jeep back.
I would leave the AC. It adds value to the Jeep. As long as it is off, it doesn't do anything. Plus, it is probably just as much a hassle to remove it as it is to fix it. It is better to restore a vehicle than hack it to bits. The next owner will appreciate that you took care of it.
