I am looking for a hood catch skid plate for my 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Mine did not come with one, but most later models did.

My ‘01 was missing this piece; I searched thru the Vehicle Parts Catalog and found the part number, but never did located one.
I fabricated the part using a piece of 1/16” recycled plastic container. thoroughly cleaned the metal surface, cut a piece of plastic and attached the plastic with some double sticky back HD 3M outdoor tape.
The piece has been installed for >3 years with no signs of loosening.
