Great comments

I would like to keep my 235-75-15 Goodyears if I do swap over to the Canyons. I am leery of them looking too “stretched” on an 8” wide wheel. I think they look ok on 7” but maybe a bit balloonish on 8”. I found this pic on the net with the TJ Canyons and the same tires I currently have. Not really the look I am going for. Something is off... the tread is too narrow and shoulders too round? These particular tires are just kind of an odd look but it seems to go well with the 7” Eccos

Found these pics today on FB marketplace: Canyons with P235 Goodyears

Doesn’t look bad but 30’s look better. Goodyear no longer makes a 30-9.50-15 tire.

It'll be a cold day in Hell before I buy another Goodyear tire.
+1

No more good-for-a-year's for me. The only tire they make that I would buy is the Duratrac, and now the prices on the size I have are just way too insane for me to consider them.

I actually just changed my vote to Ecco, because while the Canyons are my favorite wheel, I didn't realize you would be keeping the 235's. In which case I think the Eccos look better with 235's and with your particular color Jeep. The Canyons do make the tires look stretched on anything below a 30x9.5 tire.

Not only did Goodyear discontinue all 30x9.50-15 tires but does ANYONE even make that size in a load range B like the originals?

I asked the guy with the above tires on FB if he had any pics of them mounted on his Jeep and he was nice enough to send me these:

Both are equally ugly IMO, but the Canyons are less ugly of those two so that's my choice if you're holding a gun to my head.
What wheels do you prefer?

I got the Canyons mounted up all around today. Tires are dryrotted pretty bad though. One date code as old as 2002. I want to leave them on for a while to help me decide if I like these wheels or not.

Centercaps are off just because I still need to clean up the rims a bit. The spare was a really tight fit on the rubber bumpers. I had to crank down the lug nuts more than I would have liked but that is a factory oem rim and tire. I don’t see multiple part numbers for different rubber bumpers for 2002.

I got one of my 235-75-15 Goodyears installed on a Canyon to see what it looks like.

Looks good to me. I don’t see it looking stretched or weird as I thought it might.

Now the big question - should I switch them all over to the Canyons or leave them on the Eccos?!

Thinking if I do keep the Eccos - I need to do something that most here would think is stupid and downsize to 215-75-15 tires. Now that I see the 235-75-15 on the 8” wide rim, that width looks “right” to me and the 7” rim looks too narrow with too much sidewall bulge. The more I look at that combo, the more it looks too narrow.

Then again, I am also one of the few that thinks 33x12.50’s look best on a 10” rim (only accounting for looks).

It is surprisingly hard to find good pics on the web of a TJ with 215 tires. I did find this one and I think it looks great with the 7” stock steelies that are the same width and backspacing as the Eccos. I would have some nice acceleration with my 3.73 gears but it would a little wound up on the freeway. I was able to find an XJ with 215s on Eccos.
