Hello!
Anyone with experience upgrading the heater/cooling system?
My TJ is from ‘97, so I have the initial heater version. What is required to modify and install, if I would like to use the later control unit?
Any thread here posted?
TIA!

Each system is completely different from each other and there is no straightforward swap of the components.

People have done it. You basically have to replace the entire system. It's not really an upgrade as much as different. I think the only things that are "better" are aftermarket replacement control unit availability and the ability to select simultaneous floor and dash vent at the same time. I have also heard the slider style is more reliable, so there's that.

Thanks for your comments. I expected that was going to be the case. I will keep the current version, unless I have issues in the future and if I have to replace some parts, then I will probably upgrade it entirely.
