Guessing this is a rear transfer case seal failing?

Noticed a couple of drips of what looks like ATF on my driveway. Being that I have a manual rubicon, my guess is that it's coming from the transfer case. Would these pictures appear to line up with a failing transfer case rear output shaft seal? It slung atf all over half the muffler and the underside of the tub. :/

I haven't pulled the shaft yet, but will do that later tomorrow when I've got a bit of time to work. Assuming it is the output shaft seal, is the seal the same on the NP241 as it is on the 231? Just making sure if I need to order a seal that I don't get the wrong part.

Thanks again!

Well, I've been letting the jeep sit as I've been aquiring parts and tools to do the job. It did indeed end up being the real output shaft seal. Ordered a replacement seal and the metal bushing that gets pressed on to the yoke flange, which took care of the leak.

Unfortunately, when I filled the transfer case back up, it took almost 1.5qts of ATF, meaning it had be operating with only 25% of what it was supposed to have volume wise. GUESSING it's ok as everything seems to still run smoothly on it. I'll be doing a full atf fluid change this Monday to check the status of the magnetic drain plug (I think it's magnetic...) and will go from there.

How difficult was this repair? Mine has the same issue. Any good references to repair?
