Hey everyone,

New here, and new to the Jeep world! I have a hiccup though, Yesterday my 2004 Wrangler Sport started making a weird grinding noise coming from my front drivers side tire when I start to slow down and making a right turn really makes it loud. Other than that it drives great and doesn't pull or anything so i'm so confused. A couple of things that I've heard.

Brake pad
Wheel bearing
dust cover

Do these seem like likely culprits? Sorry for my ignorance lol I'm not a mechanic either and mine is off until tomorrow so I'm just using some other resources to see what I can find.

Most likley. Yes. If it isn't pulling when you brake then most likely not the brakes. So either a bearing or possibly ujoint in axle.

Okay awesome, thanks for the reply. I just was talking to my buddy and he mentioned a dust cover close to the tire that could be it as well. Does that seem like something?

Jack that tire up off the ground. Hold it at 12:00 and 6:00 and wiggle it. See if you feel any movement. Try the same at 9:00 and 3:00.

It should feel solid in either direction. If you feel movement your unit bearing needs replaced.
