Got a good link for non thick gear for a rear Dana 44. 4.56 gears…..and how do you tell if you have a short pinion?….tried putting an e-locker in the back this weekend but found out I have thick gears and locker doesn’t fit

Can't you just swap the locker for the version made for high ratios like 3.73? Doing that would make it an easy install so only the backlash would need any attention if at all. New gears will need a complete setup and break-in.

I want to but I don’t know…I put a couple nicks and scratches in it during install I don’t know if they could resell it as new

Tell them it turned out to be the wrong model # and that you need the high ratio version, that you mistakenly ordered the low ratio version. Clean it up and repackage it, I seriously doubt they'll give you any grief.

You were correct... I nicked it up a bit and couldn't really get it that clean where the ring gear was installed but summit just emailed me saying there sending me the 3.73 and numerically lower for the thick gear.....thanks
