I just went 4.56 with Maxxis 33x10.5 (measure ~32.5" D) and I am glad I didn't go 4.88....

What transmission and which gear are you in for that picture?

No idea, I don't mess with that stuff. All I was pointing out is folks never get their tire size correct figuring this stuff out so they don't really know what gearing to get. Your tires measure 31.5" for the rolling radius. What are we saying here?

For fat 31's?
I still don't know what tire size the OP has.OoopS, I’m still responding to page one posts! LOL. Didn’t see we were up to page 3!
What a thoughtful response rooted in evidence.

He has “33s” that I’m sure measure out to about the same 31.5 all the rest of them do. Which I would run 4.88 for.
For crawl ratio? Or highway cruising? and WHY?
For either. I like the way it drives.
WHY do you prefer 4.56?
Assuming 5 speed's....
4:10 is obviously agreed not enough gear for 33's
4.56/4.88 is almost negligible at crawl or 1st gear at stop light
4.88 suffers with MPG above 60MPH as previously stated. MPG is not what I am after, but is a good gauge of losing efficiency at 70 MPH. More energy to do the same work.
4.88 makes sense if you have future plans?
